WHY LIBERUM HEALTH?

In many areas of healthcare women experience poorer outcomes. At Liberum Health we understand that women’s healthcare needs to be prioritised by addressing the gender health gap and bringing women’s health issues to the forefront.

HEALTHCARE SYSTEMS HAVE RELIED TOO HEAVILY ON A ONE SIZE FITS ALL APPROACH, NOT TAKING CONSIDERATION OF GENDER DIFFERENCES.

Historically, women have been underrepresented in clinical trials and research has placed greater emphasis on male response to medical treatment. This has led to missed opportunities in providing tailored treatment for women.

OUR STORY

Message from our Co-founder Karolina
The disruption in healthcare provision due to the COVID 19 pandemic had a longstanding impact on many medical treatments with appointments and surgeries postponed. As an NHS consultant, I was working from home, juggling looking after young children whilst at the same time trying to provide solutions for my patient’s needs. I was tasked with managing patients remotely, where I experienced first-hand how we were failing to address the unmet needs of women with chronic health conditions.

I felt compelled to provide a higher standard of care and through my own special interest in endometriosis and pelvic pain how to realise this in real terms, by developing novel therapeutics and approach to management.

I met Amelia through a mutual friend and it soon became apparent that our views were aligned. Frustrated by the lack of innovation, specifically surrounding area of women’s health often considered taboo, we set about creating Liberum Health to help bridge the gender health gap.

OUR VISION…

is to develop a range of innovative products to provide smart solutions for managing women’s health conditions that are often overlooked and under researched. We believe in putting women’s needs at the core of product development.

OUR MISION…

is to revolutionise health care for women suffering with chronic conditions and to transform their quality of life, providing life changing solutions.
